“Ponti” is inspired by the Byzantine epic Digenes Akritas and explores the dialogue between Eastern and Western musical traditions. The piece draws on the Byzantine chant Δεῦτε λαοί, whose modal structure resonates with medieval Western systems such as Gregorian chant, creating a shared musical language.
